Cozy Romantic Setting Ideas For Intimate Events

Cozy Romantic Setting Ideas For Intimate Events

Cozy Romantic Setting Ideas For Intimate Events

If there is one thing the pandemic had taught both planners and clients, it’s that an event doesn’t have to include a never-ending guest list to be successful. On the contrary, in the past couple of years, intimate events have become a huge trend, with more and more people choosing this cozy, warm, and relaxed type of celebration for their special occasion.

Of course, when we think of intimacy we intuitively pair it with romance. Romantic events like wedding parties, proposals, anniversaries, Valentine’s day celebrations, and surprise birthday parties, all somehow become even more magical when they have a more intimate feeling.

Whatever intimate occasion you are planning to celebrate, depending on your personality and style, we can take the stress out of planning all the fine details; we can create a most magical romantic setting, either in the comfort of your own space, or in a private hotel or rented suite. Here are some of our favorite ideas to get you inspired for your next intimate event.

Soft candlelight dinner

If you’re celebrating something special with your significant other then what better way to celebrate than by creating a magical experience with a candlelight dinner. It can be just the two of you, or you can invite your closest loved ones. When it comes to choosing a venue, you have numerous options including your own home or garden, a fantastic restaurant, a beautiful beach on a stunning Greek island, or a gorgeous private suite.

No matter where you choose to host your intimate dinner, be it a private yacht or a villa terrace, we’ll make sure to have the perfect balance of candles, fairy lights, and lanterns to create a cozy and warm ambiance.

Nothing says love like flowers, and we’ll pay special attention to the floral arrangements and make sure to scatter rose petals all around! Harmonious music and low lighting are also a must to create the right atmosphere. Last but not least, whether you’re thinking about cooking or catering, we’ll help you choose your menu options carefully. Oysters, for example, are a natural choice for their aphrodisiac quality, but if seafood is not the preferred choice, then artichokes and avocados are also known for their love-sparking qualities too!

Cozy Picnic Indoors

When thinking of a picnic, you probably think of a more laid-back and informal affair, however, did you know that we can give this casual classic a luxurious upgrade to make it date night-worthy!?

Allow us to create a cozy and dreamy setting either in a private garden or in the comfort of your own living room, by beautifying your cute picnic with elegant candles and flowers and eclectic tableware. We’ll replace the standard picnic blanket with something more opulent, such as silk sheets or a faux fur rug, and decorate with lush, velvet cushions – a major winter trend. Picnic finger foods are a must-have, but they should also be romantic; the combination of cheese, foie gras, French baguette, and grapes never fails to amaze. We’ll be sure to have a bottle of your partner’s favorite wine or champagne!

Dinner In Bed

Now this is a great way to surprise your other half and make them feel like they’re the star of a rom-com movie set in Greece!! A definite upgrade from the breakfast classic, dinner in bed is totally unexpected and utterly romantic. We can begin by decorating your bed with hundreds of rose petals either in a heart shape or any unique design you like! We will make the most of any shelves or low surfaces by lining up scented candles for some sensuous vibes.

For a playful vibe, we can decorate the room with impressive balloon garlands, or for an added touch of enchantment, we absolutely love large illuminating letters or numbers and saying ‘Yes!’ to making things light up all bright and happy. Once the setting is ready, you can enjoy your dinner on trays topped with flowers, silk napkins, exclusive luxury tableware, and other pretty garnishes.

Romantic Bathroom Date

What better way to get all cozy and warm with your sweetheart than with a romantic bathroom date! Whether you choose to celebrate in a hotel suite with a jacuzzi or at home, the idea is the same. We fill up the bathtub with hot water, add tons of bubbles, rose petals and lovely floating candles. and slights of fruit. We can even fill the room with tall candles, fresh flowers or balloons for the ultimate decor setting.

Of course, we’ll also prepare a tray full of special treats, such as all-time-favorite chocolate strawberries and champagne. Once you’re both comfy, the only thing you have to do is drop a bath bomb for an explosion of color and essential oils.

To end your intimate event in a most romantic way, we can create a thoughtful custom gift that will surprise your partner and leave them absolutely speechless!

How To Pick A Video Style For Your Event

How To Pick A Video Style For Your Event

How To Pick A Video Style For Your Event

When hosting a special intimate event, photographs are the most popular way of commemorating your big day. However, it’s your event video that will truly help you reminisce on your special occasion. Unlike pictures, a video truly captures all the live moments, making it the most effective way to relive the experience of your event, including the incredible ambience and all the wonderful emotions too.

Be careful with thinking that simply having a videographer at your next event means you’ll end up with a great video. Just like everything else in life, success lies in the details and a great result requires putting thought into the planning of things, like your video style, as well as choosing a videographer that fits what you’re looking for. Something else to keep in mind is that consistency is very important (surely you want all the design elements to work together harmoniously), which means, if you haven’t yet figured out what style of photography you’ll use, read this article for advice on photos.

So, when choosing your video style, remember that it must be something that represents you. Videography is a form of art in itself, which therefore means it’s subjective. One may like an edgier video style, while someone else may prefer something more traditional and classic. Also, the style of your video is determined by its purpose. For example, a family reunion yacht party requires a different video style than a corporate dinner or a romantic luxury proposal. Fortunately, there are many different video styles to choose from and most videographers will give you multiple options so you don’t feel limited.

We’ve gathered some of the most popular video styles to help you discover the ideal style for you. We’ve also included some tips on how to efficiently communicate your needs to your videographer.

Video Style #1: Cinematic

Do you want your event to be captured in a stylized way with a cinematic flair? Then, the cinematic style is the right choice for your event. Cinematic video resembles a film, and since every love story deserves a movie about it, it’s only natural that this video style is by far the most popular choice for wedding parties. With a special focus on lighting, the cinematic video style promises to capture, not just the major events of your big day, but also the small details that add to the whole experience.

Video Style #2: Romantic

A romantic video style is all about flow, continuity, and storytelling. Straightforward and vulnerable, it puts emphasis on shots and camera angles as well as setting the environment. It highlights people’s body language toward one another, concentrating on the overarching storyline and character relationships, with longer and more fluid shots.

Video Style #3: Documentary

Similar to the cinematic style, a documentary style video has a more journalistic approach rather than a dramatic feel. This type of video will take you through the events of your big day in chronological order, from beginning to end. Let’s say this style is used for a wedding, there will be sections dedicated to getting ready, arriving at the ceremony, taking photos, and perhaps even a small interview with guests describing their emotions and wishes. If you want a more anthropocentric approach, focused on how you and your guests feel, then this style is the one you’re after.

Video Style #4: Artistic

Stylish, innovative, and unique, an artistic video style can be ingenious, creative, and imaginative all at the same time. It’s about figuring out how to define, identify, and depict your event in a way that fulfils your needs. Keep in mind that this video style requires that your videographer have an imaginative toolkit, a diverse creative palette, and a formal understanding of the context in which their work is captured and viewed.

Event Highlights

Event highlights have been very popular in recent years. Many clients want to have a 2 to 5 minute highlight clip of their event as well as the full version which is approximately a 30 to 40 minute video. A highlight recaps all of the most memorable moments of your event; for example, a highlight clip from your baby’s baptism or birthday party may turn out to be much more valuable than a longer piece of content, not to mention that you’re more likely to view it in its entirety more often.

Choosing the right videographer

Hiring a videographer can prove to be quite a challenging task. First you must look for someone who matches your video style preference and can meet your expectations. To ensure that, carefully review their portfolio; even pull out a couple videos that you love and use them as examples when sharing your vision. Also, talk about your venue and be sure the videographer is comfortable with your venue type.

Once you’ve established all of the above elements, now it’s time to focus on the vibe. Do you actually jive well with the videographer you’ve chosen? Remember that being filmed all day can vary from a very good to an extremely bad experience and everything boils down to the relationship you have with the person behind the lens. Only if you like them and feel comfortable with them will you have the results you desire!

If you want help choosing the best videographer to film your event in Greece, at MILI LO we work closely with very successful professionals who can turn your big day into an unforgettable experience you remember forever. Creating a video of your event is much more than just finding a videographer – they really need to be exceptional storytellers. 6 Event Photography Styles You Need To Know

6 Event Photography Styles You Need To Know

6 Event Photography Styles You Need To Know

It’s only natural to want to capture your special event on camera! Surely because you want to cherish these moments forever, but also so that you give your guests something to remember you and your event by. When it comes to event photography, things are not as easy as one may think – choosing the right photographer isn’t enough to guarantee great photos.

No matter the event you’re planning, be it a pre-wedding shoot, wedding dinner or corporate dinner party, your unique style will come through the lens loud and clear; things like the color schemes you choose, the theme you decide on, the trends you employ, and of course, the photography style that you choose in order to capture your big day.

What does this mean exactly? There are many different types of photography styles that can be used to document life’s big moments, each with their own unique purpose, look, and approach. The key is to select the photography style that best speaks to your aesthetic. Once you decide on the style, it will become much easier to choose a photographer, too!

With so many photography styles as well as videography styles out there, you may feel a little overwhelmed and perhaps spoiled for choice. To help make this decision process easier for you, we’ve gathered 6 of the most popular event photography styles and described them for you below. Let’s explore them together.

Classic

Simple yet timeless, classic photography style survives the test of time. This is the kind of style you will find in your grandparents’ wedding album, for example. The photographer’s approach is traditional, most shots are posed, and the photographs are more formal than creative. This is the perfect style for your corporate event or for a family portrait session or for a wedding celebration or baptism ceremony.

Photojournalistic

Photojournalistic photography captures spontaneous pictures of people, décor, and action rather than staged shots. This photography style will treat your event as if it was a news story and that’s why it is also known as documentary style. Making for the most heartfelt and memorable images, photojournalistic photography is all about letting things unfold naturally and recording the magic as it happens.

Lifestyle

If you’re looking for a photography style between absolute spontaneity and a planned shooting, then consider lifestyle photography or in other words, photojournalism redefined. It’s candid, but it’s done with some direction and styling, it has a friendly feel and a laid-back vibe. It’s not only about capturing the moment, but also about setting the right scene.

Dark & Moody

Looking for a dramatic touch to your event? Dark and moody photographs look like they’re straight out of a fairytale thanks to the editing style. The photographer uses shadows or harsh lines to produce interesting and imaginative patterns or lighting, giving a filtered effect to the pictures. It is an ideal style if you’re hosting a more boho or quirky wedding. It is an especially nice style to consider if your event is being held in a historic venue.

Fine Art

Centered on aesthetics, fine art photography is light, bright, and airy, resulting in delicate images. This popular style is mostly associated with romantic events, like wedding events or luxury proposals, it focuses on natural poses, and it plays particularly well with bright, vivid colors and lovely outdoor venues.

Editorial

As the name suggests, editorial images are staged; it’s almost like having a personal photoshoot for a fashion magazine. Lighting and poses are the most important aspects of the editorial style, which is, by far, the most technical of all. It may seem like there is a lack of authenticity, however, it is the perfect style if you want your images to have a high-end, luxurious feel.

Once you have determined the photography style that most suits you and your event, it’s the right time to choose your photographer. It’s also a good idea to keep in mind that event photographers need to be quick on their feet, adaptable, and confident.

Luckily for you, at MILI LO, we collaborate with some of the most successful photographers and videographers in Greece. Get in touch with us and we’ll make all the arrangements needed to ensure that all of the photography-related details of your special event run smoothly!

Balloon Décor For All Events & Ages

Balloon Décor For All Events & Ages

Balloon Décor For All Events & Ages

What’s everyone’s favorite, old-time-classic party decoration? Balloons, of course! No matter the intimate event you are hosting – wedding dinners and baptisms to birthday parties and luxury proposals, balloons are an excellent addition to any event, they always offer a happy-inspired wow factor for your guests and elevate your celebration!

A classic party symbol, balloons are fun and colorful, adding a playful touch to any venue; be it a large outdoor space, a yacht or even a private suite; not to mention that they can help pull together the whole look of your event. Although balloons are such a common decor piece, there are so many twists that can transform simple balloons into the most unique feature of your next event.

From balloon garlands, balloon walls to fun arches, the list of creative ways to incorporate balloons into your special celebration is endless, not to mention the large variety of textures you will find. With so many options to choose from, we’ve gathered some of our favorite balloon decor ideas that will take your party to the next level!

Balloon Garlands, Arches, Walls & Ceiling Installations

If you want your event to make a lasting impression, then go for massive ceiling installations, gorgeous balloon garlands draped from the ceiling or wall. For events with a main entrance, you can also use garlands as arches to mark and highlight the entrance. Put them over the mom-to-be while she’s opening presents at the baby shower or over the couple at the wedding ceremony. Make it an impressive focal point at the photo backdrop or dessert table. Create bundles of color explosions, Ombre gradients, white clouds or bubble effects! Incorporate neon lighting which is the latest trend at any event. One thing is for sure, your guests will be in awe!

Add Confetti

What better way to add some glam and sparkle to your event than with confetti? You can either dip colored balloons in gold, silver or colorful confetti, or go for confetti-filled clear balloons. If you’re planning a micro event like a gender reveal party, or birthday celebration, we suggest filling balloons with blue or pink confetti and popping them for a fun surprise announcement.

Personalized Balloons

Put a special message or image either inside or on the balloons and make them uniquely perfect for your event. For example, put the name of the baby-to-be at a birthday or  baptism, or a special date or love note for a luxury proposal or anniversary party. What a unique personal touch!

Dress In Fabric

Wrapping balloons in fabrics such as satin or tulle perfectly blends the magic of the balloons with class and sophisticated romance. For a clean aesthetic, opt for pastel colors, but if you prefer a more dramatic look, then go for bold and daring combinations.

Incorporate Flowers & Greenery

Flowers and greenry are a sure way to create a fresh ambiance for your event. Weave them into balloon arches, hang them in floral strips from high helium balloons or include them in a balloon bouquet. A beautiful touch of greenery is always essential, especially for rustic or boho affairs.

Balloon Chandelier

If you’re looking for a truly unique and majestic centrepiece for your event, then colorful balloons hanging over your table as a chandelier will surely impress your guests. Drape long flowy fabrics or install fairy lights on the ceiling and create a fantasy-like setting. This creative and imaginative idea will also be an ultimate conversation starter for a lovely dinner party setting. Take it up a notch and include marble, metallic and chrome textures!

There’s no doubt that balloons can bring a happy and personal touch to any event, turning it into a most unforgettable experience for you and your guests. If you’re not sure how to incorporate them at your next event, get in touch with us and we promise to push our creative boundaries so that we design something exceptional for your special day!

Picking A Color Palette For Your Event

Picking A Color Palette For Your Event

Picking A Color Palette For Your Event

According to color psychology, colors have qualities that trigger certain emotions. Assuming this is true (according to science it is), then the colors you choose for your event are of the highest importance when it comes to enhancing your guests’ experience.

No matter what kind of bespoke intimate event you’re planning, be it an engagement, a baptism, anniversary or a party, your color palette can either make it or break it. What are the ‘rules’ of choosing your event colors? They can be aligned with the latest trends but should also reflect your unique style, and of course there are many other factors to consider! To help you out, here are some tips on how to make the best color decisions for your next event.

Get Inspired By Your Setting

When choosing your event’s colors, one thing you should definitely keep in mind is your venue. You don’t want your color palette to clash with the overall setting of your event. If you have your heart set on a specific palette, go with a venue that employs neutral colors. Natural elements, like wood and stone and earthy tones go with just about any color. If you have an outdoor venue, consider incorporating the colors of the natural surroundings into the palette to keep the outdoor vibes flowing throughout. Keep your eyes open to find anything that can spark inspiration, from a vintage Persian rug in your venue’s dining room to the view of the ocean and the crimson red sunset.

Remember Your Priorities

Apart from the venue, there are other details you need to consider before choosing your colors. For example, if you’re dreaming of having purple orchids on your birthday, it would be a sin not to do so just because they don’t match with your event’s color scheme. If you have certain flowers or accessories you absolutely want to have at your event, make sure to choose a color palette that enhances them and makes them stand out.

Pick In-Season Colors

Just like your wardrobe, your event’s color scheme can be inspired by the time of year. If you’re hosting a Christmas party, for example, you may want to stick with winter colors such as white, ice grey, or red. On the other hand, if you’re throwing a spring or summer party, pastels and bright colors like pink and yellow are perfect! Fall colors can include oranges, browns, maroons, bronze, and other warm shades. This, however, doesn’t mean you should stay away from colors you love, just because they are not in season. Of course, there are colors that can be used year-round, such as invigorating yellow. And last but not least, another important aspect you should consider is texture. For example, bright fuchsia is considered a summer color, but velvet fuchsia curtains would be ideal for a luscious winter wedding!

Keep The Color Wheel In Mind

The color wheel is the main tool to use when it comes to figuring out what colors look good next to each other. Typically, colors that go well together are ones that are opposites because they pair coolness with warmth. Think deep purple with bright yellow for example, or orange with turquoise. Another winning combination is one main color with a color directly next to it on the color wheel, such as yellow with melon orange.

Consider The Emotions Of Colors

We already mentioned color psychology and the effect colors have on people’s emotions. When deciding on your color palette think of the emotional responses associated with certain colors. Red, for example, the color of passion, can excite your guests, increase arousal levels and blood pressure, while violet is linked with spirituality and is said to reduce stress and foster an inner sense of calm. What vibe do you want to create for your special day? Do you want to put your guests in a relaxed frame of mind by using baby blue or are you going for a dramatic bold atmosphere that is better resonated with an emerald green?

With all that being said, creating a color palette that lends itself to the venue, adds wow factor to your event, and takes emotional triggers into account, is not an easy task. Feel free to get in touch with us and we’ll be sure to help you come through the wonderful process of event planning with flying colors!
