From New York To Santorini To Hear The Big ‘Yes!’

It was a warm summer day in Greece when Aaron from New York, approached us in search for help on setting up a romantic dinner for him to propose to his Indian girlfriend La’eeqa on stunning Santorini. He envisioned something simple with lots of romantic lighting for a warm ambience, combined with her favorite flowers – Peonies and Roses and her favorite color – Red! Having a big influence on her Indian culture, Aaron prepared a playlist for them to listen to throughout this special evening, to make it extra special for her, as it did.

Santorini and specifically Oia town, is occupied with numerous luxury suites and villas with private jacuzzies and infinity pools overlooking the jaw dropping caldera and volcano. We picked one of these breathtaking locations as a proposal venue for Aaron. A secluded private terrace, hidden amongst a luxurious white washed cave hotel in the heart of Oia town, like a gem. There, they could absorb all this unique beauty and love all at once with no distractions.

Aaron and La’eeqa were in awe once they set foot on the lovely decorated terrace. They held each other as they soaked in all the surrounding settings. The songs that Aaron had thoughtfully selected was playing softly in the background. Aaron could not wait any longer so the big knee bending moment came and he proposed just as the sun was setting over Oia town. The perfect light caught them as he asked the big question and tears of joys rolled down La’eeqa’s cheeks as she said ‘YES’!

A short photo shoot took place in various corners of the very stylish hotel amongst the Greek characteristics of white washed villas, stone pathed pathways and bright pink voukambilies which everybody adores. Of course, with every shot, came the perfect backdrop of the Aegean Sea and volcano!

A romantic dinner followed and by now the candlelight glowed beautifully on their private terrace. As both were a strong vegan couple, we arranged to serve them with a custom-made vegan degustation menu for them to dine and satisfy their taste palates to the max. We are certain that all their senses were satisfied as they kept taking photos of each course!

As a personal request from Aaron to serve some Greek Baklavas, we couldn’t help but do our utmost to provide some for him. We surprised him with a box full of them, which he expressed to us, looked delicious!

Both Aaron and La’eeqa absolutely loved every detail from start to finish and absorbed every special moment. The MILI LO team had just as much fun designing and planning everything for this wonderful and fun couple!
