A Romantic Winter Wedding Proposal In Athens

A cozy, wintery request came through from Mario as he was planning to propose to the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Lucie, in wonderful Athens in December. He came across one of our romantic picnics in the woods and specifically requested us to ‘’copy/paste’’ the same set up for this special occasion.

Although the weather wasn’t in our favor the afternoon of his proposal, we aimed to bring nature indoors and create a warm, dreamy setting.

We booked a beautiful private suite which has neutral color hues in the décor to better achieve the final outcome. We created an outdoor picnic corner inside by stacking up some logs on the living room floor, filled up a firepit with a few more, then laid out fluffy cushions and sheep skin covers on a soft carpet.

Mario expressed that his soon to be fiancé – Lucie loves earth tones, so we decorated the picnic area with soft tones – whites, greys and wooden details. Following his request from our previous set up in the woods, we placed numerous single red roses in tall glass cylindrical jars and added lots of floating candles in the same manner and scattered some string lights as a final touch. The cozy corner we created set a magical mood and ambiance indoors!

On their bed, we formed a large heart filled with passion red roses and a champagne to celebrate their milestone.

The outcome looked wonderful, the setting looked incredibly relaxing, effortlessly elegant and romantic. The rain drizzled outside the windows and there would be no better place to cuddle up and celebrate this intimate event.

The couple entered the suite with Mario having blindfolded his girlfriend to not spoil the big surprise. Mario couldn’t wait any longer and he immediately fell to one knee, asked Lucie to take off her blindfold and asked the big question. Lucie couldn’t hold back her tears and she swiftly fell into his arms. It was a truly touching moment.

In this magical oasis, Mario and Lucie’s eyes were glowing, their smiles were magnetizing and they couldn’t hide their love. The beautiful couple celebrated with delightful custom-made cupcakes which spelled ‘’She Said Yes’’, toasting with champagne and later in the evening they would be sipping on red wine and enjoying a delicious carpaccio.

The indoor picnic may have been a better idea after all, as they would spend the whole night in this romantic sanctuary.
