A Penthouse Wedding Proposal In Athens

Alexander from California was counting the days to propose to his girlfriend, Angelina. He was inclined to ask the big question right before Christmas. As he was so overwhelmed with planning such a special event from abroad, he got in touch with us to help plan his dream proposal.

He expressed his ideas; a rooftop in the center of Athens with a view of the Acropolis and something private, away from crowds. The best option was to pick a Penthouse suite. Without further ado, we searched various private suites in central Athens until we found the most suitable spot for such an intimate special event.

In the meantime, we got our creative juices flowing and we suggested numerous creative ideas for Alexander to pick from as regards to decor. He loved all the proposed concepts but he was especially excited about using large illuminated letters spelling out ‘’Marry Me’’ as well as a large elegant balloon garland for a more pop-y and effective proposal surprise.

As we moved onto the design details, we thoroughly discussed Angelina’s personal style including her favorite colors and flowers. The décor would look something like this – A large impressive floral arrangement, a feminine and elegant balloon garland, as well as lots of tall glass jar candles to fill the suite. On a little coffee table on the one end, we displayed some custom designed cupcakes, dark chocolate bites and sparkly Pom Perignon champagne where Alexander and Angelina would celebrate their first milestone as an engaged couple!

Last but not least, Alexander wanted to include a Chinese touch to the whole setting as this is Angelina’s descent. He precisely asked us to incorporate the ‘’Double Happiness Symbol’’ somehow in the décor. We thought it would be really pretty to design the ‘’Double Happiness Symbol’’ on the bed filled with the peach rose petals.

December 23rd arrived and it was finally proposal day! Alexander expressed that he wanted to pretend they were headed to dinner up at the rooftop restaurant, but had requested for a Chef’s table which was not given to them. He would then blindfold Angelina and that is exactly what he did. Angelina didn’t suspect the slightest, even after being blindfolded. He had been planning it out all so carefully that it didn’t cross her mind even for a second! He led her into the Penthouse suite and right there, in front of the ‘‘Mary Me’’ illuminating letters glowing, he bent his knee and asked the question of his life. Angelina was stunned when she realized what was actually happening. Of course, with no hesitation she said ‘’yes!’’.

It was a lovely proposal and we are so happy to have been a part of this beautiful experience. The planning process was so much fun. Angelina was in absolute awe and they both absolutely loved the décor setup. We wish both of them a lifetime of exciting moments and sweet surprises!
