A Hedgehog Themed Baptism In Athens

We had the pleasure of being a part of Myrto and Theodori’s beautiful son’s baptism in Athens. It was a warm autumn Sunday evening and it was hosted in their lovely home in the northern suburbs of Athens.

They approached us with a theme and color palette already in mind and this was a cute Hedgehog and the colors of blue and mint green. After seeing another baptism we had designed and planned, Myrto was certain that she wanted lots of fairy lights and candles to create a warm atmosphere.

Most things were already taken care of, such as the invitations, bonbonnieres, cakes & desserts, catering, DJ and photographer. They wished for us to handle all the styling and décor to set everything up in her house.
As we love to let our creativity juices flow, we wanted something original combining it with something trendy. We always strive for simple yet elegant, we seek to create custom made designs that suit both our personality and our client’s. We opted for a tailor-made gold mirror Plexiglas hedgehog design and a large gold hoop and a garland of balloons in the shades of mint, blue and a touch of white for the candy bar. As a hedgehog’s natural habitat is a forest, we decided to add a little green grass just for color and proceeded with the original idea of keeping it clean with just glass and Plexiglas and gold touches to complete the whole setting. Multiple fairy lights were intertwined around the dishes and desserts on the candy bar. It looked incredible with all the customized and luscious desserts carefully placed.

On the tables, we set up centrepieces with blue hydrangea flowers and placed a tailor-made hedgehog in each and of course kept to the fairy light idea in all the centrepieces.

In the garden, we hung Christmas lights on the hedges and buffet benches to add a beautiful glow at night which simply gave an enchanting feel to the whole garden.

Tall cylindrical jar candles of various sizes were set up in various corners of their home which created the very warm ambience Myrto hoped for.

Two huge helium balloons filled with many tiny ones inside were placed at the entrance of the house. The christened name ‘Nikos’ was stuck on across the balloon which added a nice personal touch. Another creative idea was to hang fairy lights from the balloons which everyone thought looked really cute. In the playroom, blue and mint helium balloons were hung with long ribbons for the kids to play.

Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves to the fullest. Kind words were being heard from the guests as well as photos being taken in front of the illuminated candy bar. It was so delightful being a part of Niko’s special event and we wish him all the best!
