A Romantic Spring Anniversary in Santorini

It was early spring in Santorini when we organized a beautiful afternoon for Kevin and his girlfriend Jenna, to celebrate their anniversary. Kevin anticipated to do something extra special as well as very private, to surprise his girlfriend rather than an ordinary outing. We decided for something truly incredible with a series of surprises for everlasting memories.

We proposed an experience that would allow them to relish all the beauty this spectacular island offers. The design and planning process began and we started off with the couple taking a private horse-riding tour through a traditional old town called Megalochori (meaning big town), which on the contrary is actually a very small town with traditional narrow alleys. The horses rode through these small pathways and under the tall ‘’Kabanario’’ (church bells) which are so very characteristic of Megalochori – this is something truly unique for anyone visiting Santorini. These alleys lead to the wild fields along the caldera cliffs, surrounded by blooming daisies making the foreground so dreamy and pretty and landscape even more spectacular as they rode through on the horses – though the horse ride itself, along the caldera cliffside is an amazing experience.

The next surprise awaiting Jenna was a hidden picnic spot at the edge of the cliff, which we had decorated with her favorite colors of aqua blue and teal. A perfect location to gaze at the mesmerizing view across the breathtaking horizon. We set up a cozy corner with a lovely spring bouquet for Jenna in an array of spring colors whose beautiful aroma filled the air. Soft cushions of all sorts, a few picnic baskets placed on the table with Greek finger food delicacies and some local red wine completed the setting. The picnic area was surrounded with lit candles and fairy lights which created a magical and dreamy atmosphere for the couple to enjoy before heading to the final surprise.

The last surprise took place at a gourmet restaurant in the old town of Pyrgos. There, a dinner table was set for them for their romantic meal facing an incredible panoramic view of Santorini all lit up at night. Their table was beautifully decorated with spring flowers as a centerpiece and aqua blue and teal linens, art de la table and décor details to match Jenna’s preferences, with custom made ‘Happy Anniversary’ menus placed on their dinner plates. The candle lit table glowed, setting off the perfect ambience to end their beautiful day.

It was a wonderful experience for us creating this thread of surprises and happy moments for Kevin and Jenna. We wish these two, many more special anniversaries to come!
